A vampire series of treatments that enhances your
face, neck, chest & breasts
Dr Charles Runels, inventor of The Vampire Facial and Vampire Facelift, travelled to New Zealand in January this year to train Dr Kirshni Appanna in a series of trademarked treatments designed to rejuvenate the face and breast areas.
The ‘Vampire’ name, while sounding a bit aggressive is simply derived from the fact that all the treatments utilise platelet-rich plasma (PRP), a treatment which uses your own platelets and growth factors isolated from a small sample of your blood, taken 10-15 minutes before the procedure. About 2-4 teaspoons of your blood is harvested into a special tube and then spun down in a centrifuge to separate out your platelets and plasma from your red blood cells. The clear yellow plasma and active healing platelets are injected into your body in a specific way to rejuvenate your tissues, and the red cells are discarded.
PRP is considered to be very safe, as it uses your own body’s natural healing processes – the growth factors that tell your body’s multipotent stem cells to repair and rejuvenate the tissue they’re placed in – and so has almost no chance of reaction, infection or overcorrection. Over a 3-5 week period the treated tissue starts developing more collagen, better blood supply, and improved soft tissue support, essentially creating younger tissues, with full results developing 3-5 months after your treatment.
The Vampire Facelift uses a combination of PRP and a reversible HA (Hyaluronic Acid) filler to restore a youthful shape and volume to your face in subtle natural way. The HA filler is used initially to create a beautiful shape, and replace volume loss in your face. Your PRP is then injected into your face in a specific way to improve skin tone, texture and lucency.
The Vampire Breastlift works very similarly with the use of the same combination of fillers and PRP to enhance the cleavage area of the breasts. This results in the cleavage area specifically becoming rounded in the part of the breast that is visible in bras. This is a non-surgical breast lift and does not replace breast implants. More specific injection techniques can also improve nipple sensation and in some cases ‘pop out’ inverted nipples.
